The club had a stand at this years Sumners Ponds Model Show in an effort to promote the club. Several members and wives turned up on Saturday to help man the stand and enjoy the wide variety of models on display. In spite of the gloomy weather in the mid afternoon a good day was had by all. As usual the Portsmouth Model Display Team put on a good show with their WW2 Atlantic convey and their manned WW1 battleships on the Saturday and on the Sunday, despite the the very blustery conditions their Battle of Trafalgar display was something not to be missed. A smaller but equally enthusiastic crew joined in on Sunday which turned out to be the best day of the weekend. We made a few contacts and hopefully the club will have a small piece in Marine Modelling International in the next couple of months or so courtesy of Kim Belcher, an education presenter with the RNLI who enjoyed the tea and cake on offer for a donation to the lifeboats. We don’t have a total raised as Paul will be taking the collection boat to the Hailsham Model show on July 11th. Below are a variety of pictures from the show.
